2007 Baker Ranch Pinot Noir - 13.4% alc.

Located on Signal Ridge in Anderson Valley, this is a great new source for both pinot and syrah. Owned by Sam and "Muggs" Baker and farmed by Paul Ardzrooni, we think you will find this a nice addition to the Copain portfolio of Pinot Noirs.

The 2007 is a light bodied but full flavored wine more akin to a Savigny-Les- Beaune for those francophiles. Fresh strawberry, bay leaf, black tea aromas carry well to the palate. Picks up pretty rose petal aromas as the wine opens that carries through on the snappy finish. Boasting a modest 13.4 (CHECK LABEL)!!! alc this wine, with its nice acidity, is a great pairing with lighter cuisine. Very delicious and approachable now, it could use another 6 months to a year to really come together and drink well over the next 5 to 7 years. The site includes 4 acres of Pinot Noir and is planted with 115, 777 and 114.
