2006 Tasting Notes Black tea, sweet dusty cherry with damp earth spice nuances to the nose, subtle hints of cured leather emerge with air. Flavors of cherry, rhubarb and soft pain grille are fresh, vibrant and nervy on this light-medium bodied wine. Dusty tannins and lingering cranberry flavors resonate on the zesty finish. In staying with the mode of lower alcohol, we achieved great phenolic ripeness at 22.8 brix. The finished wine is whopping 13% alc but still has great fruit purity and color. Certainly our most vibrant 2006 pinot, this wine begs for food or a few years nestled in your cellar. |
