2004 Tasting Notes

Hendy graphite, black olives, cassis and fennel fronds aromas are evident on opening.  Slowly emerging bitter sweet dark chocolate nuances are noticeable when the wine opens.  Sweet but not sappy black fruits with subtle chalk and dried herb flavors are expansive on the palate but remain restrained.  The finish is very long with blackberry, more graphite and minerals buoyed by ripe tannins and crisp acidity.
