2006 Garys’ Vineyard Syrah - 14.6% alc. From the first vintage in 2002, this wine always exhibits great black nicoise olive and graphite aromas and flavors. The 2006 wine picks up spicy peppercorn nuances and dark blackberry fruit flavors. Texture and length on this wine are fantastic with dried sage and blue flowers on the finish. Chalky tannins and nice acidity keep the wine vibrant and taught. While good now with a couple of hours in decanter, 3-5 years in the cellar should round out the flavors and continue aging nicely for 10-12 years. |
