2005 Tasting Notes

This deep purple colored wine possesses a nose of graphite, India ink, spicy pepper and crème de cassis. Intensely flavored with a medium palate weight, this wines is reminiscent of the northern Rhone. Flavors of blue flowers, crushed rock, blackberry, iron and bittersweet chocolate emerge on the palate. The wine is very similar to our 2002 wine with slightly better acidity which balances the fruit and may prove to be more age worthy. A couple of hours in a decanter or 2-3 years in the cellar will help all the elements really come together.
