2006 Tasting Notes

The nose reveals graphite, white and green pepper, blackberry and crème de cassis. Rich dense flavors mirror the aromas picking up chalky floral accents. Firm fine grain tannins and sound acidity kick in on the finish and keep the wine focused. This is our best Thompson to date and manages to hem in the huge power this vineyard tends to express. While not light bodied, the 2006 manages to pack the intense flavors into a structured lither palate and remain fresh.
