2001 Tasting Notes We again harvested a meager crop from this freakishly rocky and steep vineyard. The one ton per acre fruit is even more concentrated yet shows the elegance of last years wine. 260 cases produced The wine possesses an amazing nose of crème de framboise, dried flowers and spice. The mid-pallet is ripe and lush with ripe red fruits and baking spice but finishes with a firm structure. We think it is a very unique expression of Zinfandel that is both fruit driven and complimented by other complex aromatics and flavors. |
