Among our sustainably-farmed vineyard sites, only a handful have earned the distinction of a Single Vineyard bottling. While exquisite now, the Single Vineyard wines are crafted to be savored years after their release.
A fantastic vintage for this wine, the Laureles Grade Chardonnay showcases electrifying fruit pulsing with lively acidity, and astounding focus and clarity. The stony soils of this plow, situated in Carmel Valley, are vividly expressed in this dynamic and mineral-driven Chardonnay.
Our third release from the Wendling vineyard is compelling and complex. Full of uncoiled tension and assertive aromatics, this wine truly reflects the dynamic range of this site and clonal selection. The Wendling Pinot Noir expresses an enchanting earthy depth, and whispers the promise and potential of these vibrant young vines as they age.
Bearing the hallmarks of a lengthy ripening period bestowed by coastal influences, the Monument Tree delivers deep, developed and concentrated fruit. Like the commanding solitary redwood that towers above the vineyard, this Pinot Noir is both singular and stunning with a round, silky palate and a long, lingering finish.
The upper parcel of Kiser vineyard continues to produce some of our most satisfying and stunning Pinot Noirs. Rich garnet red and concentrated, Kiser en Haut is scented with pomegranate, black cherry, cinnamon, clove and violets. The palate shows tannins up front, bright acid and leans towards the red fruit spectrum. Delicious now but worthy of aging.
Reverberating through every layer of the Halcon Syrah are the rocky, schist soils of this Yorkville Highlands vineyard. Dynamic and woodsy, this expressive Syrah is deeply concentrated, with brambly dark fruits and an alluring Alpine quality. An expressive nose of violets, eucalyptus, and crushed stone frame flavors of savory salted plum and fresh blackberries. The structure is brawny with smooth tannins, promising rewards to those with the patience to cellar this wine for several years.
Profoundly aromatic with copious red apple, rose petal and California bay, the Hawks Butte Syrah offers a harmonious potpourri of juicy black currant, roses and granite. With a deep purple color and rich concentration, the wine is stunning in the glass. Whole cluster fermentation allows the wine to obtain structure from stem tannin instead of oak, resulting in a lively, broad expressive wine with a soft, velvet texture and intense aromatics. We recommend laying down for 3-5 years.
Profoundly aromatic with notes of violets, blackberry, smoke, black currant, clove, pie spice, black licorice and ripe raspberry. The texture is soft and alluring with flavors of figs, blackberry and black plum. Mouthwatering acidity and soft tannins highlight the long finish of this mountain grown cool climate Syrah.
The DuPratt vineyard is a shining example of old vine Chardonnay in
Anderson Valley. Teeming with compelling minerality, this site-driven
Chardonnay is intoxicatingly aromatic; fresh lemon verbena, quince paste
and orchard blossoms. Powerful and precise, the solid backbone and lively
acidity lead to flavors of crisp green apple, grapefruit and fresh herbs.
Higher elevation and pronounced coastal influences have yielded this lean
and vibrant Chardonnay a complex body and potential for long aging.
The Brosseau Chardonnay sings with flavors of dried apple, spiced caramel and
persimmon, while a sonorous acidity and pure minerality reverberate throughout the
palate. The intense aromatics of delicate spice, peach blossom and key lime unwind to a
tightly structured core of perfectly ripe yellow fruits and limestone. A sublime vintage from
the esteemed vineyard in the heart of the historic Chalone appellation, this offering once
again mirrors the character of a cru Chablis.
One of our most desirable wines, the 2013 Baker Ranch Syrah
is delicate and structured, with a broad, soft palate and light body.
Evocative of the terroir-driven Syrahs of the northern Rhône, this wine
intrigues and enthralls with myriad layers of exotic spice.
