A Perfect Day In The Russian River

Spend a perfect day getting to know two of the most famous Pinot Noir and Chardonnay regions in the world. The Russian River Valley in Sonoma County and the Anderson Valley in Mendocino County are renowned for producing stunning Pinot Noirs and expressive cool-climate Chardonnays.

Copain, Arista, and Gary Farrell have teamed up to provide you with a terroir tour showcasing the distinctive flavors and characteristics that exist between these two regions, as well as from vineyard to vineyard within the same region. In between tastings, savor the scenic journey along Westside and Eastside roads as they meander through breathtaking vineyards along the banks of the Russian River.

PART I: SINGLE VINEYARD FLIGHT & LUNCH AT COPAIN WINES: 10:30am - 12:00pm
An Anderson Valley specialist, Copain highlights a selection of our most sought-after bottles that showcase the cool-climate terroir of our coastal vineyards. Copain invites you to savor a carefully curated flight of both newly-released and library vintages of vineyard designated Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Expect to explore 5-6 cool-climate wines from three distinct growing regions, while enjoying their scenic hillside tasting room and locally-sourced wine country lunch. Please allow 90 minutes for this experience.

Part II - SENSE OF PLACE TERROIR TASTING AT GARY FARRELL: 12:30pm - 2:30pm
Gary Farrell invites you to their private tasting salon for an exploration in some of the valley’s most renowned vineyards, discovered through a special flight of current and library releases. This experience is personally hosted by an estate ambassador and features six highly allocated releases of single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Part III - EXPLORING TERROIR AT ARISTA WINERY: 3:00pm
Participants will learn to recognize subtleties and nuances which are directly linked to terroir. You will be seated on the Mezzanine overlooking one of their five estate vineyards while their private host guides you through the wines and the unique attributes that each appellation boasts. The flight will as well be enhanced by small bites from Arista’s Executive Chef, Timothy Kaulfers.
