2012 Magnum Les Voisins Pinot Noir

Our 2012 Les Voisins Pinot Noir embodies the elegant characteristics of this varietal from Anderson Valley: earth and spice on the nose, red fruit with silky tannins on the palate. A medium bodied Pinot Noir with bright acidity, this wine may be enjoyed for several years to come

VINEYARD NOTES:
Derived from the Deep End of Anderson Valley, which is the coolest end of the 18 mile long stretch, the fruit for this wine hails primarily from neighboring vineyards. These sites bear a preponderance of Dijon and California heritage clones. Altitude and proximity to the ocean, combined with a high concentration of sandstone, provide optimal growing conditions for Pinot Noir.

VINTAGE NOTES:
The 2012 vintage was a welcome relief following the challenges of 2010 and 2011. A wet winter was balanced by a moderate, slightly dry spring, with bud break and veraison occurring several weeks later than usual. Bestowing optimal conditions for slow, even ripening, a long Indian summer extended into early October. Harvest commenced approximately two weeks later than previous years, and was condensed into a few short weeks, with all of our fruit in by November 1.
