2007 Hacienda Secoya Pinot Noir - 13.5% alc.

This is our 8th vintage of Hacienda Secoya to be released and the now 12 year old vines just make better wine every year. This is our most mineral laden wine to date and seems, as the roots dig deeper into the fractured red and yellow ocre sandstone, the wine keeps getting more complex. This coupled with our less extracted lower alcohol style change in 2006 has really allowed the purity and nuances to shine. The wine exhibits pure mineral laced black cherry fruit with great floral, spice and talc aromas. Dried griotte like flavors emerge on the palate with dusty pure fine grain tannins on the long balanced finish. The wine certainly needs another year in the cellar to come together and should age nicely for 8-10 years and perhaps more. I think our finest Hacienda to date and one of the stars for our 2007 vintage.
