Our pursuit for unique terroirs has taken us to Oregon for this Syrah vineyard. Located just a few miles south of the Washington border in the Walla Walla Valley, this vineyard is truly unlike any we have seen outside of France. A "crazy" young Frenchman named Christophe Baron defied the naysayers and planted these magnificent vineyards. The own-rooted Syrah is planted in nothing but an ancient rocky riverbed rivaling that of the famed Chateauneuf du Pape region of France - only these are far deeper! We contract "by-the-acre" one acre each from two of his vineyards called Coccinelle and Cailloux. Both vineyards are farmed organically and yields are kept to 2 to 2.5 tons to the acre. Words nor photos can do the these vineyards justice; only the wine truly can.
