2001 Tasting Notes As for the wine itself, it has had an interesting evolution in barrel. I was initially concerned the wine was not as expressive as last years version but it has really surpassed my expectations. I think those of you who like Condrieu will find this wine more in-line with those aromatic and flavor profiles and not as markedly tropical/Californian as the 2000. The wine now seems to exhibit: Citrus, orange blossom, and fresh apricots that give way to a fatter waxy mouth feel of honey suckle, white peach, and minerally wet stone. Lingering apricot jam finish that is balanced by good acidity. |
