Aromas of wet stones, grapefruit strawberry and watermelon. Those scents match the palate while pushing the limits of density while keeping its slim, fresh and bright style. Extremely serious yet an unadulterated joy.
The 2021 growing season was marked by a dry winter where the North Coast received lower than normal rainfall. This put vines at risk as there was very limited water in the soil. This triggered low vigor growth in the vines and a low fruit yield. Ultimately, a cool summer was the saving grace, and the tiny clusters were able to ripen evenly without experiencing dehydration which would lead to overwrought flavors. The resulting wines are a bit more concentrated in flavor and color, and 2021 should prove to be a spectacular, but unusual vintage.
Our Les Voisins Rosé is from one of our estate vineyards, which is also home to one of our incredible single vineyard Pinot Noirs: Edmeades. This wine is made from grapes picked slightly earlier than the grapes for our red Pinot Noir as acid levels are slightly higher. The fruit is whole cluster pressed upon arrival to the winery to help maintain freshness, balance, and purity of fruit character.
Wet stones, fresh grapefruit, fresh strawberry pith, watermelon rind
