The iron-like minerality on both the nose and palate is a reflection of the rocky red volcanic soils of the Monte Rosso vineyard, originally planted in 1880.  The wine has a powerful structure that presents itself on the front palate, followed by an opulent mid-palate and savory sweet finish of cherry compote.
Intense aromatics of cassis and dried blueberries pour out of the glass, along with a hint of juniper and cola.
