Located in the Chalone appellation the vines are planted on limestone and granite. This Grenache shows characteristics of rose petals and strawberry jam.

Vintage Notes:

A very cool growing season in 2018 allowed us to leisurely pick grapes over a long period of time. This cool weather allowed us to have many different wines picked at various levels of ripeness and flavor development, while maintaining ideal sugar levels. This is the inaugural vintage for our Brosseau Grenache.

Vineyard Notes:

The Brosseau vineyard was planted in 1981 and is situated in the famed Chalone AVA made famous in the Judgement of Paris in 1976. Planted in decomposed granite and limestone, coupled with the age of the vines, this vineyard produces wines with striking minerality and depth. We have had the pleasure of working with the Brosseau family since our first Syrah bottling in 2005. We have since produced Chardonnay and Grenache from this vineyard as well.

Wine Profile:

Aromas: Confectionery, cherry cola, grenadine

Palate: Rosemary, rose petal, strawberry jam
